Laser eye surgery recovery musings

Recovery is going well. I can see a bit better each day, and throughout the day.

But that's not what I wanted to talk about. I want to talk about something I've not seen in the literature surrounding this. Eye dominance.

For pretty much the whole time I've been wearing glasses, I've been left eye dominant. This kinda makes sense, prescription wise it was always the stronger eye, with a weaker correction needed than my right.

However for the last three days now, my eyes have been fighting for dominance. This kinda makes sense, at least in my head. Each eye is recovering at a slightly different rate than the other.

But it's tiring too. My focal point shifts slightly when the dominant eye shifts. And I can feel a weird slight muscle fatigue in my right eye when it stops being the dominant one.

I dunno if I'm just more sensitive to this than other folks. Or perhaps it's just one of those things that isn't talked about because most folks are paying more attention to making sure there's no infection and marvelling at the vision improvements.

Well, whatever it is, I felt like mentioning it. Its weird, slightly tiring, but kinda cool at the same time. And it makes me wonder, when the recovery is complete, and my vision is stable, will my right eye come out as the dominant one instead of my left? Or will things "go back to normal", left eye dominant, but that I'm able to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses?
