Suspended federation with the instance bae dot st. Had seen reports of strange behaviour coming from it and on inspection of the public timeline observed death threats, rape threats, transphobic speech, racism, and misogyny.
The instance detroitriotcity.com has been blocked from federation to this instance because of racist and anti-Semitic content observed in the public feed.
Currently running v3.4.7 on the second upgrade attempt. The first attempt brought the Mastodon version all the way to 3.5.1, but with data from 2020!
Will finish the 3.4.7 to 3.5.1 journey at a later stage with all the data this time!

#admin Sorry about downtime recently – overdue Mastodon updates were being applied, and we had an emergency migration of the host at Digital Ocean (the host providers).
The instance is back up and running Mastodon 2.6.4. Sorry for the short notice.

We're going to attempt the upgrade pretty soon, so the server will be going offline for a while. Plan is to keep it to less than an hour. Wish us luck and see yous on the other side 🙂

We'll be trying the upgrade to Mastodon 2.5.0 at the weekend. There's not supposed to be much downtime required, but this will be our first upgrade so we're learning as we go.
Will make another announcement just before we make changes.
