I get tired of following a link to something that sounds interesting and ending up with Medium complaining that I need to log in and/or upgrade my account.
I’m all for writers earning for their work, but does it have to be bloody Medium?

I don't know what I'd prefer as a solution for payments, but dealing with Medium is just a painful experience.
There just isn't a good system and governments aren't interested in mandating one. They'd rather help newspapers tilt at windmills.
@marramgrass I’d like a warning before i bother. Or a way of making a micropayment to the author of a long form. Not upgrading just for one article.
