I see the fediverse’s answer to people pointing out issues and lacking features is to patronisingly explain that it’s open source so they can fork it and learn to code - GNU/Fuck You

@iain meh, that seemed pretty tame 🙂
I do see it being forked and commercialised though. Eugen is making Mastodon for a specific mindset. There’s a lot of people approaching Mastodon with an attitude of “I want this to be Twitter without Musk. Make it happen, nerds!”
I still think both viewpoints are valid, as is everything in between.
@mo truth social is just mastodon commercialised after all
