I saw Gay Dad play live at some open-air festival thing in Belfast in the early 2000s. They were fab.

They should have been more successful than they were. The fact they were a manufactured band and the driving force and lead singer was a music journalist didn’t endear them to many.

This baffled me. Loads of people in bands have jobs before their music careers. In this case, it just happened that the job was music adjacent.
