I’m learning Irish at a wee place in East Belfast called Turas.

Last night we had an awards thing; folk got badges for various levels of Irish. I got the very first level you can get (mastodon.ie/@tosbourn/11055270)

The award was handed to me by the leader of the UUP, and one of my classmates is the ex-leader of the PUP.

If you’d asked me 15 years ago if that situation could ever unfold in Belfast; I’d have laughed.

Things are getting better.

@tosbourn my daughter Caoimhe recently got presented a certificate for her Foundation snare drumming from the Ulster Scots Agency, and handed over by a DUP MLA at Stormont. Things are definitely changing!

@tosbourn I attribute it to her integrated school. It was all school kids at the event and not one school name sounded like a Catholic school.
