@cmbbell @harriettmb @norniron @derryantipov It's precisely because so much Norn Iron discussion is dominated by politics that I'd hoped people would be kinder here and find something better to talk about. There are plenty of places to discuss politics online and they all seem hateful. I'd hoped we could avoid that here. But maybe not.

Absolute nonsense. You can discuss many aspects of life in this region without having to stray into politics. If someone does stray into politics (intentionally, or not), you can choose to sidestep. Most people do not choose to sidestep because they'd rather bring politics into it.
Maintaining a space that is devoid of politics is not only achievable, it is admirable. But it is not something that can be achieved without discipline or control
