@alexmace we have one in our new-build home and had no choice in the matter. We were just told by the builder “we have to put these on, and you will need to ask the electricity provider to change it”.

And now we’re about to get credit vouchers for it from the government (£600) so we’re locked into the pre-pay system until we use them (or lose them!)

@alexmace the system for giving assistance with energy bills this winter was a bit messed up in Northern Ireland!

@mo Am I imagining that there is a state energy company in NI?

@alexmace no, we have multiple energy companies now. But we have a dysfunctional government that has severely hindered the rollout of the energy bill support.
