I sometimes am led to feel a sense of despair at the credulousness of a younger generation. What is missing? Common factor? None of them seem to have seen Threads.
If only they knew that annihilation horror and hopelessness is a mere five minutes away.

@shezza_t just surprises me that it took so long for us to find out about how close the reality came. Next they'll reveal that the spirit of dark and lonely waters is living happily with his family in a cottage near Windermere

@bobcardboard I hope he is, he deserves some quiet time near nice waters for a change.
As for the other point, I was glad I was older before I found that out. I remember my early teenage friends and me being terrified by a new siren one evening. Turned out it wasn’t the three minute warning, but a new siren for the fire station’s practice night.
@shezza_t tripped over a website a while ago with Google map pins for all the old sites including a ROC bunker in a field in East Antrim and big anonymous one just off the Malone Road that is now apparently a document store for security services

@OpinionatedGeek @shezza_t @bobcardboard Coincidentally this week's edition of "The travel show" on the BBC is about Swiss bunkers. Was quite interesting. Every Swiss citizen has to have access to one!
