How did you integrate from The Bad Place? I'm thinking maybe, I'll unfollow people I've gotten here, so I can see who I haven't got, and either find, entice, or lose them.

@intheseheels I did that for a while but checked it less and less and then decided to just close my account. At this point it’s been long enough for me to not be able to remember who or what I worried I’d miss and so I don’t miss it at all.

Well I miss getting some ‘news’ I used to get (things like updates from my local council and some companies) but I’m happier not to be a part of it all any more.

@simon I used to search my town name to get news. But now they've got huge in football and anything interesting is hidden by that. I've been on twitter for so so long. Since the start. It'll be hard to cut loose

@intheseheels I don’t know your exact circumstances but I’d been there since 2008 and made some wonderful friends. I closed my account on its 15th anniversary.

It is really hard but hopefully you’ll be over it quickly like I was. A huge part of it is psychological but the flip-side of that is that my mental health dramatically improved once I’d closed me account and had no temptation to keep ‘casually’ checking it.

@simon @intheseheels I met Simon through a combination of Twitter and conferences. No matter what it’s become, it was definitely once an amazing way to interact with people. Like Usenet. And some Slack communities.
