Sunday morning soundtrack: power washers, a lawnmower, the chop of the neighbour's cleaver as he prepares dinner, birds singing, a distant quad bike or scrambler, grey back crows squabbling over something limp on the tarmac, the teapot singing on the stove.

Update: the neighbour has confirmed that the "something limp" is the remains of a large grey rat :/

@shezza_t there’s a lot of them about 😱
My girls live off Ormeau and regularly see them on the embankment.
Thankfully in the sticks we don’t see so many

@ellyjohnston I used to see loads of them in Belfast city centre. The Chichester Street Centra bins behind the shop seemed popular.

@shezza_t I worked opposite City Hall and there were more flying rats (pigeons and seagulls) than enough 🤣

@ellyjohnston @shezza_t when I arrived at work on Thursday (Donegall Place) there was quite a commotion with gulls. Turned out there were people cleaning our roof and the gulls were attacking them because the chicks were nesting up there. Someone was on guard with a stick to defend the rest of them cleaning.

@mo Brave people. Gulls are feisty enough at the best of times, and doubly so at nesting time.

A friend got seriously dive-bombed just for walking past a Belfast nesting site.
