Spent the guts of a week in London and every day my phone was running through battery far faster than it does in Dublin. Sure, I was using it a bit more than normal, but even so. Clearly the city just needs to feed on power to live?

@natural20 were you roaming on a UK network? Maybe the act of roaming causes your phone to keep negotiating with the various networks available, when at home you’re only really thinking about the one network.

@mo @natural20 it's probably something to do with cell site distribution and RF propagation in the different architectural landscapes. If the phone has to use more RF power to keep connection to the cell sites.
