@nivrig we just got 10 panels put on the roof today. Getting batteries, etc installed soon.

@mo Nice! We have 13 panels, but no battery. Held off on that to see how things went. Likely getting an EV next year, but there could still be enough generated to feed a battery as well.

@nivrig we’ve got the EV. Also on the Economy 7 style tariff to fill the batteries at night (more during winter) and use the cheaper power during the day. If the panels fill the batteries during the summer the plan is to use the excess to generate hot water. These myenergi libbi batteries look real nice.

@mo Yeah, we're looking at a Libbi. We have the Eddi hot water heater, it got 5kWh every day over the summer.

How many batteries is that? Didn't know they could go outside either.

@nivrig 4 batteries, supposedly 5kWh each. We’d initially wanted them in the garage but apparently the guidance is not to do so anymore. Something about risk of driving cars into them when parking in the garage. Of course ours are at the side of the house and easier to hit at speed!
