@oisin we don’t often see badgers at our house, though we’ve definitely had them visit at night. My mother-in-law in Fermanagh would get a lot of activity, though it’s less appreciated as there’s so much suspicion of badgers spreading TB to the cattle.

@ninjaPotts This is why I didn't want to be on mastodon.ie (or .social, etc). The local/federated timelines there are kind of pointless cause there are so many people there now. Of course, I've now got a bit of FOMO cause it feels like everyone in Ireland on on mastodon.ie and maybe I'm missing some craic...

@saraita101 the fact that the people who do moderation for your server are visible as human beings and not hiding behind some massive opaque department is somewhat reassuring. And that you can jump to another instance if your current moderators are letting you down.

@OpinionatedGeek I’ve seen suggestions that the first post in a thread can be marked as Public, and subsequent posts can be marked as Unlisted. This allows the opening post to appear on timelines (like an abstract), but the remainder of the thread will not clutter a timeline, though can still be read by viewing the initial post.
