@nivrig I always found the first week to be incredibly tough. Usually involving crying in the bathroom stall.
@ianRobinson it looks great. A bit Snowpiercer but underground, but I love post-apocalyptic stuff.
@yatil mushroom mushroom!
@alex @amyworrall @pmdj the latest Technology Connections Video on YouTube addresses the “turning it all on” issue. Spoiler: there are products to smartly disable breakers so that you can avoid everything being on at once.
@joshua that Eurorack for you. Convention is a ribbon cable with a red stripe on that side. But it’s -12V, and I instinctively put the red wire on +12V instead.
Fixed up the Chikipower (and somehow caused an LED to stop working), but now have power attached to the breadboard with the AY-3-8910 on it. Will have to start experimenting with the AY and Arduino, as well as plan what I/O the module will have. #BlinkSabbath
@nivrig did you ever say who the company was?
@platkus @schwa @uliwitness it’s easy for anyone who can afford 100 dollars now to say it’s a non issue. In isolation it seems trivial. When you combine it with other life expenses it can all add up to life costing more for the people with the least. It happens everywhere, all the time.
I’ll not get into a tirade on banks 🙂
@keven @spins it’s such an evocative title! It makes me think of Marge Simpson with bullet holes in her hair 🙂
The whole album is wonderful. Feels like two incredibly close people just enjoying themselves. Only Talking Sense is hauntingly beautiful.
@MarkXA I’m sorry I didn’t hug you yesterday. I wanted to but I was too shy.
@platkus @schwa @uliwitness I didn’t say it was punishment. But it is inadvertently punitive towards people who can’t afford to put a larger quantity down up front. It’s a variant of Vimes’ Boots Theory: “The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boots_theory
@gruber @marcoarment i concede that HomePod Pro Max Ultra is the obvious name for a larger HomePod, but I think “HomePod Goes to Eleven” is the ultimate top end audio product name.
@fluxusnerd @nivrig I disagree. I love Trash Feory (for that’s how he says it!) but the Wet Leg one was really weak. I wonder is it because they are too recent a band? This weeks episode on The Pixies was great.
I'm Maurice Kelly, a software engineer who sold his soul to management. To redeem myself I try to make music, but in reality what I'm doing is making a big pile of synthesisers all in one place and changing how they are connected on a regular basis.
