@darrylxxx that was a trashcan Mac Pro!
@noodles mine went a minute or so early. I’m guessing it’s network cell dependent? I think it’s sent to any phone on a UK network, regardless of your home nation. Rather than addressing every device from a central register, it probably just tells every network cell “tell all connected devices about this!” So timing would depend on propagation to the cell. Maybe even getting through all devices in a cell sequentially.
@acf I’m waiting for notifications from a couple of online places in case they have anything left over. Imagine you were physically unable to get to a shop, or were clinically vulnerable and it was too risky to go to a public place. RSD is not for you apparently.
I love the idea of record stores. I’d love to own one. But I’d love to make it welcoming to all.
@NanoRaptor maybe a kerning accident caused an iPod with dockwheel prototype to be made initially?
@acf and it always seems to be on a Saturday. I can go to a record store from Monday to Friday, but I’d spend the price of a record on fuel/parking to get there on a Saturday. Not even accounting for the fact that I don’t really want to do a work commute on my day off!
Sometimes it seems a bit like gatekeeping (only in store, only at weekends) and not very accessible. Just perpetuates that High Fidelity record store mentality.
@Moltz they’re the real world equivalent to in-game consumables. You collect as many as you can while you progress through the game thinking they might come in useful very soon, but in reality you finish the game with a load of them unused.
You can’t take Raspberry Pis to your next play through, John. You got to use them in this life.
@lexfri write some rare Earth metal
I hope the firefighters were wearing breathing apparatus, or else they’d have gotten high on the fumes. #itsAMadeUpDrug
@iain that’s similar to how I would want it to work. Your InfoView shouldn’t give a shit if the info came from a Recording or was just a bunch of disparate params. Your way has it neatly decoupled 👍
@antonyjohnston there’s something magical about looking out from a train window that you don’t get from a bus or a car. It always feels like the visuals to an awesome soundtrack.
@acf this has got to make it a spate, right? Six-year-old shot after basketball rolls into North Carolina man's yard https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-65325867
@chartier I’d settle for just an Apple Card at this stage. Doesn’t seem like they’re ever going to launch in the UK.
@GrantMeStrength I used this for a while around 96 as well as HoTMetaL.
@oisin Your blood subgroup is Ruby on Rails?
@nivrig that cheeky wink!
@BenRiceM “postman” is one of the vocations I’m finding hardest to stop saying. “Postal worker” is too generic, “post person” is a bit clumsy, and “postie” is a bit cutesy. I’m going for cutesy until something better comes along.
@iain i remember the time I brought my new (to me) car home to show my parents and my dad offered to wash it for me. All good. Woke up next morning to a dry just for me. After I’d eaten it, my dad revealed that he’d reversed the car back in the night before and left a window open. Thunderstorm overnight. Ruined.
@ultranurd the left sticker is insecure, the right stick will make you insecure.
I'm Maurice Kelly, a software engineer who sold his soul to management. To redeem myself I try to make music, but in reality what I'm doing is making a big pile of synthesisers all in one place and changing how they are connected on a regular basis.
