@noodles I decided to check, and The Cure are on the Friday night. Was starting to get jittery and considering just going for E6

@oisin also, you need to change instance and stop giving out 😜

@oisin maybe it was a Twitterrific thing, but I’d been using that aggressively for years with Twitter. I like the time-bounded mutes here. Great for when some people get very active and over dominate my timeline.

@noodles you might be right, but I don’t think I could do two nights in a row, and Glen Hansard on the 6th. And maybe Paddy Kielty on the 4th

@noodles no, I’m at The Cure that night. Gutted to miss E6, but excited to see The Cure!

@oisin I know what you’re saying, and I’m sidestepping it because it suits my moan. It’s not like you can pinpoint a single person to take action against. One person boosts one thing because they think it’s helpful, so I don’t want to take action against them for one inadvertent annoyance. And I don’t want to mute the OP cause it’s not their fault either.

Doesn’t help that really old posts can be dragged up regularly. Especially from Eugen.

I don’t know if this needs to be a server or client function, but the Mastodon experience desperately needs to debounce repeated boosts of the same damn posts over and over again.

@theronster and you suggested you wouldn’t be tech enough for nitech!

@MarkXA @OpinionatedGeek it’s always good for us Blade Runners to be able to weed out the Replicants.

@theronster quote tooting is verboten. If you wait a few seconds someone will boost the post that explains why. Comes around regularly.

@seanddotmedotuk you know what, I think that’s probably stipulated in the GFA.

@seanddotmedotuk dammit. I was about to register mastodon.ni but it’ll cost about 700 quid. I was going to redirect to .ie

@seanddotmedotuk like, local ones? Is Jeffrey joining mastodon.ie 😀

@theronster my wife was thinking of all the practical stuff. I was purely concerned with network and power.

@theronster I also got two extra Ethernet cables into the attic just in case. And power.

@theronster so does ours, and then there’s an Ethernet into the utility cupboard. I should have said that rather than the fibre goes into that cupboard 🙂

@theronster would love a UDM Pro but it’s overkill for here right now. I’ve got a perfect spot too: nice utility cupboard, all Ethernet goes to it, patch panel set up, fibre arrives in it too.

@theronster waiting to get a UDM at home and move a USG and switch to here.
