@GrantMeStrength since I stopped using semicolons in programming I’ve been able to use them in my prose; they come in handy sometimes.

@vinnycoyne @PadraigOCinneide isn’t this how Apache used to work? After handling a set number of requests each httpd process would terminate and be replaced so that the impact of memory leaks wouldn’t compound.

I use a similar, but a bit more expensive. I use Eve smart plugs that I can switch off and on again from HomeKit.

If you're into puzzles you might like this. And if you do, please tell the rest of the world - virtually no-one even knows it exists :)

A while ago we made a little puzzle game called Radiant Grid. It's a simple idea but like all good puzzles, the difficulty really ramps up.

App Store (iOS and Mac): apps.apple.com/gb/app/radiant-

It even has a relaxing, ambient soundtrack which is on Apple Music…

@shezza_t if you lived with me, saying that would have been the trigger for my arse to make an appearance.

@jackwellborn ah well. It was nice to have hope for just a little while 🙂

@jackwellborn what are you playing it on? Please be Switch, please be Switch!

@antonyjohnston it’s one of my favourite movies. It’s cleverly written, it’s fantastically acted, the action is relentless, the setting is captivating, and the soundtrack is banging.

If I could find the time, I would watch it on a weekly basis!

@antonyjohnston we once had a Halloween playlist for our office party that was just Ghost Town on repeat. The joke wore thin really quickly but at least it’s a good song to piss people off with.

@antonyjohnston to me, Ghost Town will always be the Irish national anthem, thanks to Father Ted.

Illness, covid

@marramgrass better but still not 100%. It’s why I’m still insisting that the family test when they’re feeling unwell. It’s bad enough for one person to be sick, but no point in letting the entire family succumb.

Illness, covid

@marramgrass it’s been a pain. I feel like I’ve lost 4 weeks. A week to Fiona being ill, a week to me being ill, and two weeks of feeling completely wiped out post testing negative.

Illness, covid

@marramgrass if I wasn’t one of the seven, you can include me. Couple of weeks ago now, but Fiona and I have both had it recently.

Still, leaves me a whole summer of licking anybody’s ice cream I want without worry so much about catching Covid again 😜

@GrantMeStrength I’m convinced that all software instinctively knows that if a word begins with those 4 letters then it will be truncated as “anal…”

@seanddotmedotuk @augieray it also took my wife at least 6 days to test negative. She had it the week before me, but I don’t think she tested early enough for proper isolation and I ended up getting infected.

@augieray @seanddotmedotuk this is my 3rd infection, and it definitely feels worse than the 2nd time, but on a par with the 1st. I’ve somehow managed to catch it in June one year, August the next, and July this year. In all honesty though, I don’t think I’ve ever fully recovered since the first one. Could just be advancing years, but I’ve never physically felt the same since.

@seanddotmedotuk @augieray I was testing positive from Monday 1st until Sunday 7th and was unwell for a while before testing positive. I’m still completely wrecked by it.
