@ThePaulMcBride when will WeCodeNI be posting job listings to Mastodon? 🙂
@natural20 I’m from the north, and didn’t even have RTE until I was about 11. We never watched the Toy Show, and as a result I’ve never really gotten into it. My wife, on the other hand, only had RTÉ for most of her youth, so she loves the Toy Show, and is always trying to get the kids into it.

@oisin Pint of the Black (Stuff) Friday?
@twostraws eight years ago I was waiting to get through the publishing process for my Swift book with Peachpit Press. It took ages to print and distribute and was a complete flop (at least partly) because it was out of date before it hit the shelves.
It wasn’t long after I saw Hacking with Swift that I realised that print publishing for tech books was effectively dead, and that you’d done an amazing job of embracing the new way to publish and teach. I salute you!
I host a daily podcast called Your Daily Lex. Today’s episode is about getting banned from Twitter.
Five minutes a day. Free Black Friday and always.
@mrcourtney how does anyone get close enough to lick them?

I feel like the tradition needs to be kept alive here on Mastodon. You know what to do.
@MarkXA CHVRCHES, Julia Bondar, Confidence Man (with a male vocalist), Fever Ray, The Knife, Warpaint, Zola Jesus, Simona Castricum, Roisin Murphy, New Young Pony Club/NYPC, The Hundred in the Hands, Imogen Heap, LIGHTS, Bic Runga, Santigold.
@natural20 they seem to have disabled any “export all notes” functionality. Gonna have to figure out a way to get my documents out of it. This new company has a bad reputation.
@amyworrall I haven’t got any experience yet, but I’ve been starting to research, and I saw this product on the Fully Charged Show: https://myenergi.com/libbi/
I liked the fact that they were a UK company too. Here’s the video I watched: https://youtu.be/UEFJyWCK5uw
I keep seeing posts about a new 2 day tech conference that happened last week in London.
Apparently it was so terrible that there are now a number of blogs alleging behaviour on the part of the organiser(s) which was downright unprofessional at best, and fraudulent at worst. Only one organiser has been identified and I'm disappointed to discover it's someone I know tangentially through the London tech scene.
The conference promised 3k+ attendees, 150 speakers, tickets were in three figures.
I'm Maurice Kelly, a software engineer who sold his soul to management. To redeem myself I try to make music, but in reality what I'm doing is making a big pile of synthesisers all in one place and changing how they are connected on a regular basis.
