@nivrig we’ve got the EV. Also on the Economy 7 style tariff to fill the batteries at night (more during winter) and use the cheaper power during the day. If the panels fill the batteries during the summer the plan is to use the excess to generate hot water. These myenergi libbi batteries look real nice.

@nivrig we just got 10 panels put on the roof today. Getting batteries, etc installed soon.

@stuart I wonder if a lot of commentators are going to be bemoaning the lack of non-silicone options if 3rd-party case manufactures struggle to accommodate the Camera Control.

Apple’s Fine Woven cases seemed to go down very badly with the commentators, but I’m very much missing my Fine Woven case after 3 days with a silicone case.

@marramgrass I like that the Metropolix has the immediacy of sliders and switches, but also feels like complex jiggery pokery because you can apply mod lanes to the 2 tracks and even output the mod lanes independently. I love this explainer video from one of my favourite synthy people: youtu.be/FHr6AlI1KOE?si=-xbA7b

@marramgrass I like the idea of a Digitakt but I think it gets me too far from the intimacy of the modular system.

@marramgrass I only ever used BooTracker on my Amstrad. I’ve been using a Metropolix Eurorack sequencer later. You can see it on this (bottom left): youtu.be/LAACwr2lVOU

@marramgrass any particular rabbits that you’re following in said rabbit hole?

@marramgrass well, I followed a link while browsing for bargain Roland Juno-106s.

Yes. I bought a Roland Juno-106. And I’d do it again, dammit!

@marramgrass only 2.5k! Bargain!

I accidentally looked at Roland Jupiter 8s and now I get 20k synths recommended.

@joshua @acf both perspectives can be true. If they built heavily on this ecosystem then it’s world-ending FOR THEM, but it doesn’t mean the rest of us have to grab a brown paper bag to regulate our breathing because we didn’t invest so much in that ecosystem.

@GrantMeStrength since I stopped using semicolons in programming I’ve been able to use them in my prose; they come in handy sometimes.

@vinnycoyne @PadraigOCinneide isn’t this how Apache used to work? After handling a set number of requests each httpd process would terminate and be replaced so that the impact of memory leaks wouldn’t compound.

I use a similar, but a bit more expensive. I use Eve smart plugs that I can switch off and on again from HomeKit.

If you're into puzzles you might like this. And if you do, please tell the rest of the world - virtually no-one even knows it exists :)

A while ago we made a little puzzle game called Radiant Grid. It's a simple idea but like all good puzzles, the difficulty really ramps up.

App Store (iOS and Mac): apps.apple.com/gb/app/radiant-

It even has a relaxing, ambient soundtrack which is on Apple Music…

@shezza_t if you lived with me, saying that would have been the trigger for my arse to make an appearance.

@jackwellborn ah well. It was nice to have hope for just a little while 🙂

@jackwellborn what are you playing it on? Please be Switch, please be Switch!
